Emmanuel Muma, Research Fellow-Trade and Investment ZIPAR
Emmanuel Muma is a seasoned International Trade Policy and Economics specialist, with research expertise in trade policy, law, industry, and investment. Currently serving as a Research Fellow at the Zambia Institute for Policy Analysis and Research (ZIPAR), Zambia’s leading think tank, Emmanuel brings over eight years of experience in shaping trade and investment policy. He earned a Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of East London and a Bachelor's degree in Development Economics. He also pursued further Master’s studies in Trade Policy and Trade Law at the Eastern and Southern African Management Institute (ESAMI) and the Trade Policy Training Centre in Africa (TRAPCA) in Tanzania.
Emmanuel's expertise spans regional economic cooperation, particularly in his role as the SADC Desk Officer for Zambia's National Committee. His work involves close collaboration with the government, private sector, and international stakeholders on projects funded by organizations such as the European Commission and UK DFID. His research contributions, including papers on Zambia-China trade relations, MICE tourism development in Zambia, and the impacts of multi-facility economic zones and trade policy, have been pivotal in influencing economic policy both nationally and regionally.
