As Zambia embarks on the implementation of its 8th National Development Plan (8NDP), the modernization of NISIR emerges as a strategic step towards enhanced research and development (R&D) output, aligned with the nation’s vision for socio-economic transformation and sustainable growth. The purpose of this document is to outline guidelines, together with a management framework for the modernization of NISIR, facilitating the optimization of its resources, infrastructure, and expertise to effectively address the priorities outlined in Zambia’s 8NDP. Through strategic investments, enhanced collaboration, and streamlined processes, the modernisation initiative seeks to bolster NISIR’s capacity to innovate, conduct cutting-edge research, and drive impactful development outcomes.
